FORTHCOMING EVENTSThe 2010 season has included over 60 performances across the UK, working with artists such as conductor Sir Charles Mackerras, clarinetist Emma Johnson and the Brodsky Quartet. But it’s not over yet! Still to come… In September, Southbank Sinfonia will perform alongside British Youth Opera at the Peacock Theatre, London, in Puccini’s La Bohème and Euridice by Stephen Oliver. Don’t miss SbS at Wigmore Hall on Wednesday 6 October for a varied programme including Elgar’s Introduction & Allegro with the Sacconi Quartet. Also in October, Southbank Sinfonia performs Haydn’s rarely performed opera L’isola disabitata at the Royal Opera House, London. And in November SbS’s Music Director and co-founder, Simon Over, conducts two performances of Britten’s War Requiem – in Coventry Cathedral and in London’s Westminster Cathedral – to mark the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Coventry Cathedral. |
